A Heat map gives you a flat picture of the current market conditions. By design, a heat map can display at most two separate measurements at a time, typically strength and volume. VisualTrader’s map can display up to five distinct factors simultaneously.
By organizing the map into groups and placing “whitespace” between the plates, VisualTrader offers a far more intuitive view of the market. You see each stock and group’s measurements both independently and within the context of the larger map.
The distinction becomes extremely apparent when you compare VisualTrader’s Map to a heat map as the market moves. The 3D layout of the map highlights changes in market conditions, while heat maps fall flat.
While the colors in VT are fully configurable, it is generally setup so that green indicates strength and red indicates weakness. This color scheme tends to promote an intuitive understanding of the map.
A measurement returns a value related to a single market factor. It is calculated independently on each stock and group. The transform is the associated visualization that is based on a collection of these measurements. Particularly the transform links the displayed cylinder and plate characteristics to the measurements used in that transform.
VisualTrader can be used with both End-Of-Day and Real Time data services. If you do not already have a data provider, we offer competitively priced data solutions called OmniData. The software also works with eSignal and IQ Feed data streams. If you are using end-of-day, non- streaming data, you can also use Worden Brothers data, as well as other sources that use the Metastock data format.
VisualTrader offers the versatility to trade both during and after a trading session. After the market closes, VisualTrader shows you the strength in weakness in each group and stock on your VT Map. If you use streaming data during the trading session, you will see the market dynamics in real time. This allows you to see where the market is going and keeps you ahead of the rest of the market.
